MUST READ- The Process

Please read about our process, so you’ll know what to expect and how we’ll work together to create your fabulous portrait!

Step 1. Read and agree to our studio processes.
Please let us know if you have any questions about how our studio operates.

Step 2.  Complete our questionnaire
Please complete the Family or Senior (or teen) questionnaire and e-mail back to Melissa at melissa@melissatash.comFamily Session Questionnaire or the Teen or Senior Session Questionnaire

Step 3.  Complete pre-session consultation.
For previous clients, we can complete this by phone.  For new clients, we’ll set up a studio or home visit where we can meet and get to know each other a little and design your session. At this time we’ll discuss session location,  time and date of your session and your ordering session, clothing and props. I would also like to meet your children at this time if possible.  Your session fee is due at this time.

Step 4.  Submit payment
Please submit payment for your session at the time of our consultation.  See here for session types and investment. You may pay on-line here or send a check to:  Melissa Tash, 7 Ross Street, Huntsville, AL 35806.

Step 4.  Ordering Preperations.
Photograph areas in your home where your portraits will be displayed.  Any digital camera will do fine!  Just take a photo of the walls you are interested in displaying your portraits- make sure to take this photo at a right angle to the wall.  Send us a measurement of something that is on the wall (and in the picutre) so we can calibrate our software. (We will use these photos to show you exactly how your portraits will look in your home.)  See here for complete print and product investment.

Step 5.  Portrait Session.

Step 6.  Sneak Peak on our blog.  Let us know if you would not like a sneak-peek on our blog. We’ll post a couple pictures for you to share with your friends.  We can also post these to facebook if you are our facebook friend!

Step 7. Ordering
Ordering appointments are scheduled approximately two weeks after your session.  At your ordering appointment, you’ll come to our gallery to order your portraits.   Please arrange childcare for your children during this appointment, but feel free to bring anyone that will help make ordering decisions with you.  We’ll view your presentation in our presentation room on a 7-foot screen. We are able to see different poses side-by-side for comparison, see how they would be cropped at different sizes, view them in black and white or sepia, etc… We will be able to assist you in all of your portrait decisions.  All orders must be placed at the ordering appointment.  Orders are to be paid in full at your ordering appointment. I accept cash, money orders, personal checks, and major credit cards.

Take note:  Any images that you order are archived and are available for re-order.  All images not ordered are permanently retired.

8. Custom Framing Consultation.
To complete your personal art, it is important that you choose the right frame. We will assist you in choosing a frame compliments your portrait and your home decor.  Our expert advice will enable you to end up with the most complimentary frame for your portrait.   We have a wide selection of moldings that will complement the most traditional or modern portraits.   Your artwork will be signed by Melissa after it is framed.

9. Pick Up. Your finished portraits are normally ready for pick-up 4 weeks after you place your order.  Portraits that require artwork or printing on specialty mediums can take up to 12 weeks for delivery.
